OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, DAIRYING & FISHERIES, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE.
QUALIFICATIONS : ESSENTIAL : A.
EDUCATIONAL : i) Matriculation
passed from a recognized Board/University or equivalent. ii) Certificate of competency of MOT First class or
Second Class Engineer(Motor) or certificate of competency as Engineer(Fishing
Vessel) issued by the Mercantile Marine Department.
B. EXPERIENCE : 3 years’
practical experience on Fishing Vessel.
DUTIES : 2nd
in command of Engine side of Fishery Training Vessel.
Also Chief Engineer, Grade
II will be in charge of duties of Chief Engineer, Grade-I whenever Chief
Engineer, Grade – I is on leave. The
services of Chief Engineer Grade II are essential on Board Vessel as a statutory
requirement as per Merchant Shipping Act.
HQ : Cochin but liable to

degree in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Chemistry of Foods and Drugs and Water
from a recognized University or equivalent.
OR Degree in Food
Technology/Technical Chemistry of a recognized University or equivalent. B.
EXPEREINCE : i) 2 years’
experience in imparting training in food analysis.
ii) Intimate knowledge of food standards, food composition and detection
of adulteration. DESIRABLE : Research
experience in food analysis and food composition or allied subjects.
DUTIES : To take the
theoretical and practical classes in Food Chemistry and Analysis and Ancillary

Statistics)/Operations Research/Physics or Economics(with Statistics)/Commerce(with
Statistics) or degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science of a recognised
University or equivalent. B.
EXPERIENCE : Five years’ experience of Electronic Data
Processing/Computer oriented information
or Statistical System out of which at least three years’ experience should be
in responsible capacity in actual Computer
Programming and system or design development ; organising computerised
information stores and retrieval system. DESIRABLE
: i) Formal training in programming
software design preferable on computer
system. ii) Experience in a
large scale data processing applications. iii)
Experience in providing computer related training to various users.
DUTIES : Systems design and
Programming. Data preparation and processing.
To train systems personnel. Coordination
of jobs of user organizations

INVITES

(Ref.No.F.1/245/2007-R-VI/SPC-II) One hundred Junior Works Managers(Mechanical) in Ordnance Factory Board, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. Civilian in Defence Services. Out of one hundred posts, seventeen posts are reserved for SC candidates; seven posts are reserved for ST candidates, thirty posts are reserved for OBC candidates & forty-six posts are unreserved. Out of one hundred posts, three posts are reserved for Physically Handicapped persons[viz. one post for persons with disability of Hearing Impairment(Partially Deaf) and two posts for persons with disability of Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with one arm affected or one leg affected] belonging to any community. All these three posts are exchangeable between these categories. These posts are also suitable for persons with disabilities viz Hearing Impairment (Partially Deaf) or Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with one arm affected or one leg affected. QUALIFICATIONS : ESSENTIAL : EDUCATIONAL : Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. DUTIES : The work is of technical & supervisory nature where the officer is responsible for the output and working of a group of Industrial, Non-Industrial & Non-Gazetted employees posted under him, as per targets given by the organization. HQ : Ordnance Factories Board/Ordnance Factories and other units in different parts of the country.

The persons selected will be appointed on probation for two
years.

parts of the country.
IMPORTANT : A Written Objective Type Test (Multiple Choice Questions) will be conducted followed by Interview for selection of candidates to the posts. Marks obtained in written test will be added to the marks obtained in the interview to decide the final result. However, the Commission at its discretion, may short-list the applicants for interview based upon a reasonable criteria e.g. higher qualifications and / or experience in place of written test. This issue of Employment News carries two application forms /formats- one for Advertisement No.14/08 and the other for Special Advertisement No.53/08. Applicants for the post of Junior Works Managers must use only the format published under Special Advertisement No. 53/ 2008. Application submitted in any other format will not be accepted and is liable to be rejected. There will be a penalty for wrong answers. Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question. SCHEME AND SYLLABUS FOR THE TEST : The test will be of two hours' duration and will carry a maximum of 100 marks. The test will an Objective Type with multiple Choices of answers. The level of the question paper will be of the B.E. programme of Indian Universities. The Syllabus of the test comprises the following :- Statics and Dynamics, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, Machine Design, Mechanics of Solids, Production Technology, Manufacturing Science including Machine Tools, Metrology, Industrial Engineering, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. The medium of question paper of the test will be English only. The candidates will be called for interview in order of their merit in the Recruitment Test. The number of candidates called will be a multiple of the vacancies reserved in each category viz. SC/ ST/ OBC/Physically Handicapped/ General (Unreserved). Respective weightage of the recruitment test and interview shall be as decided by the Commission. A duly signed passport size photograph of the candidate is required to be affixed on the application format on the space provided for it. Candidates are required to send only one application in the prescribed format only, for the post of Junior Works Managers. Applications without fee, photograph , declaration not signed by the candidate and not indicating the choice of centre will be rejected. Similarly, applications received late and received from over aged candidates will also be rejected. Two self addressed envelopes ( 28 cms X 12 Cms. ) are to be enclosed along with the application. No other documents are to be sent. Applicants are required to indicate only ONE Centre of their choice in the application form under Column 11. Change of Centre will not be permitted to any candidate under any circumstances. The candidates are cautioned that if any candidate appears at the centre not allotted to him/her by the Commission, his/her answer sheets will not be evaluated. The recruitment test will be held at all or any of the following centres on the 14th December, 2008:- (For filling up column 11(A) & 11(B) of the application format).
