UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSTS

1.(Ref.No.F.1/29/2009-R-VI) One Junior Technical Officer(Electronics Engineering) in DGQA, Department of Defence Production & Supplies, Ministry of Defence. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : B.E. / B. Tech. in Electronics Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. OR M.Sc in Physics with specialization in Electronics from a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience : Two years’ practical experience in the field of Electronics Engineering. Desirable : Certificate of proficiency in German or French or Russian or Japanese or Chinese language from a recognized University or Institute. DUTIES : The officer shall be responsible for quality assurance, acceptance, inspection of equipments, arms, ammunitions and stores; defect investigation, trials, vetting of draft indents / agreements / supply orders, sampling plans, liaison with production units, removal of bottlenecks and suggesting methods of improvement of quality.

2.(Ref.No.F.1/30/2009-R-VI)Six Junior Technical Officers(Computer Engineering) in DGQA, Department of Defence Production & Supplies, Ministry of Defence. Out of six posts, one post is reserved for ST & three posts are reserved for OBC candidates. Of the six posts, two posts are reserved for Physically Handicapped[ one post is reserved for Hearing Handicapped (HH)candidates belonging to any community and one post is reserved for Orthopaedically Handicapped /Locomotor disability or Cerebral Palsy affected persons with One Arm(OA) affected or One Leg(OL)affected belonging to any community]persons. Out of sixteen posts, two posts are reserved for SC, one post is reserved for ST & four posts are reserved for OBC candidates. 9.(Ref.No.F.1/46/2009-R-V)One Lecturer(Electrical Engineering) in College of Military Engineering, Pune, Ministry of Defence. The post is reserved for OBC candidates. The post is also suitable for Orthopaedically Handicapped persons with disability of one leg affected. Qualifications : Essential : Educational : Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. Desirable : i) Qualified in an All India Examination such as Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers(GATE). ii) Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent. 10.(Ref.No.F.1/51/2009-R-IV)One Assistant Registrar General(Map) in the Office of Registrar General, India(ORGI), Ministry of Home Affairs. The post is also suitable for Physically Handicapped[Orthopaedically Handicapped(one arm affected)] candidates. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : Master’s Degree in Geography from a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience : Ten years’ experience in a recognised map publication office including two years’ experience in applied Cartography. Desirable : i)Doctorate Degree in Geography from a recognized University or equivalent. ii) Research publications preferably on Cartography. iii) Certificate course in Statistical methods from a recognized University/ Institute or equivalent. DUTIES : General supervision and planning of various projects carried out in the Map Division at RGI Hqrs. and DCOs. To organize training programs for various projects like computer assisted Cartography, manual cartography etc. Coordinate the mapping activities among the other Divisions / DCO’s and Ministries. HQ : New Delhi.

11.(Ref.No.F.1/236/2008-R-VI) Ten Extra Assistant Directors in the Directorate of Coordination (Police Wireless), Ministry of Home Affairs. Out of ten posts, four posts are permanent and six posts are temporary. Out of four permanent posts, one post is reserved for OBC candidates and three posts are unreserved. Out of six temporary posts, one post is reserved for ST candidates and two posts are reserved for OBC candidates and remaining three posts are Unreserved. The posts are also suitable for Physically Handicapped person with disability of Partial Deaf(P.D.). Qualifications : Essential : Educational : i) Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or in Electrical Engineering with Telecommunications Engineering as a special subject from a recognized University or equivalent. OR Master’s degree in Physics with Wireless or Electronics as a special subject from a recognized University or equivalent. Desirable : Experience in installation, maintenance, overhauling and testing of Radio and allied equipment OR Experience in indenting purchases billing and maintenance and technical specifications of Radio and allied equipments, their prices and suitability for varying requirements. OR Handling of message traffic by Radio land line using Morse code, teleprinter, high speed automatic machines and knowledge of Police or International procedures used in a large communication Centre or Grid. OR Experience in writing technical articles, editing and publication of journals on telecommunication subjects. DUTIES : To function as Technical / Administrative Officer of Inter State Police Wireless Stations, Work-shops, Training, installation Team etc.

12.(Ref.No.F.1/39/2008-R-VI)One Assistant Director, Grade –I (Leather- Foot Wear) in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises. The post is reserved for OBC candidates. The post is also suitable for Physically Handicapped (Orthopaedically Handicapped – One Leg Affected) person. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : Degree in Leather Technology of a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience : i) Three years’ experience in a responsible capacity in a technical organization or industrial concern in Leather / Tanning / Finishing Industry or in Footwear / Leather goods. OR Diploma in Footwear Technology from a recognised Institution or equivalent with 5 years experience in Technical Organization or Industrial concern in Leather / Tanning / Finishing Industry or Footwear / Leather goods. ii) Should be thoroughly familiar with the latest techniques of production and use of modern machinery, equipment and tools as applied to leather / footwear industry. Desirable : Experience in advising /developing industries in general and small scale industries in particular. DUTIES : To visit small scale units and advise their supervisory staff and workers in different technical problems, which confront them in the manufacture of products falling under small scale sector. To suggest improved and economical techniques of production, proper use of materials and correct type of machinery and tools. To prepare model schemes. Any other duties that may be entrusted from time to time.

13.(Ref.No.F.1/44/2009-R-VI) One Assistant Director, Grade –II (Electrical) in the Development Organization (MSME-DO), Office of the Development Commissioner (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The post is reserved for OBC candidates. The post is also suitable for Physically Handicapped persons with “Locomotor disability” or Cerebral Palsy. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute or equivalent. B. Experience : Two years’ experience in supervisory capacity in a technical / industrial unit in production of light electrical machinery and appliances / testing / inspection of electrical engineering products or experience in promotion of small scale industries in areas of entrepreneurship development and quality control. Desirable : i) Familiarity with the latest techniques of production and use of modern machines, equipment and tools as used in the electrical engineering industry, and ii) basic knowledge of Computers particularly application side of currently used software / packages for offices. DUTIES : To visit Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and advise their supervisory staff and workers about different problems, suggest improved techniques of Production, Quality standards and method of working, Conduct Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Tests for quality certification in the field of Electrical Engineering. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

14.(Ref.No.F.1/252/2007-R-VI) Two Assistant Directors, Grade –I (Electronics) in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises. Out of two posts, one post is reserved for ST candidates. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : Degree in Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience : Three years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a technical or industrial concern in the development and production of electronic components, equipments and instruments. Desirable : Should have knowledge in the latest techniques of production and use of modern machinery and equipment as applied to electronic industry. DUTIES : To advise & take suitable measures for the development of Electronics industries in the Small Sector. To co-ordinate various agencies for establishment and development of electronics industries in the field of Small Scale Sector. To visit small scale units in the trade for technical and other assistance. To prepare model schemes for manufacture of different electronic items.

15.(Ref.No.F.1/42/2009-R-IV) One Senior Research Assistant(Economics)(now re-designated as Economic Officer) in the Planning Commission. The post is also suitable for Physically Handicapped [Locomotor disability or Cerebral Palsy(Both Legs Affected)] persons. Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational : Master’s degree in Economics of a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience: Two years’ research experience relating to ‘Essential Qualification’ i.e. Economics. DUTIES : Collection, compilation and analysis of data relating to various aspects of the working and management of public enterprises. Preparation of reports and drafts of important aspects of their working, like Project Studies, Management Policies etc. HQ : New Delhi but liable to serve anywhere in India.

16.(Ref.No.F.1/47/2009-R-V) Two professors in Computer Engineering(Technical) in Delhi College of Engineering, Department of Training and Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. Of the two posts, one post is reserved for OBC candidates. The posts are also suitable for Physically Handicapped persons with disabilities of Low Vision and Orthopaedically Handicapped with Locomotor disability or Cerebral Palsy [viz. OA(One Arm affected), OL(One Leg affected), BL(Both Legs affected)]. Qualifications: Essential: Educational: A- i) Ph.D Degree with First Class Degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in computer Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent. ii) Ten years’ experience in teaching / industry / research out of which five years’ must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. OR B- Candidates from Industry / Profession with Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering / Technology and professional work which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D Degree and with ten years’ industrial / professional experience out of which at least five years’ should be at senior level comparable to that of Assistant professor would also be eligible. NOTE : I : If a Class /Division is not awarded at B.E. /B. Tech., M.E./ M.Tech or equivalent degree, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to First Class / Division. If a grade point system is adopted, the CGPA will be converted to equivalent marks and minimum CGPA shall be 6.75 in the scale of 10. NOTE :II : In the Discipline of Computer Science and Engineering / Technology, in lieu of the first class, at Bachelors degree and / or Master’s level, in the appropriate Branch, a first class Master’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering / Technology together with a first class Bachelor’s Degree in any area of Engineering/ Technology will be acceptable. DUTIES : To perform all the academic activities including examination work in Computer Engineering specially in the field related to Computer Networking / Mobile and Adhoc Network / Network Security, Software Engineering. To participate in R&D and research guidance, consultancy/testing services, promotion of industry-institution-society interaction, Curriculum/Resource Material/Laboratory Development & expansion, Co-curricular & Extra Curricular Activities, Academic and Administrative Management, Policy Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation and Promotional activities, Promotion of entrepreneurship and job creation, helping mobilization of resources for the institution, Develop/update and maintain MIS, Plan and implement staff Development activities.
